Carmen Marc Valvo dresses at Loehmann’s

Hi! Ava here with another fantastic buyer’s tip for you!

I just confirmed that Loehmann’s is receiving a lovely quantity of Carmen Marc Valvo dresses at 70% off the regular prices.

A favorite of many Hollywood celebs, Carmen Marc Valvo dresses are often seen on the red carpet at many swanky awards events.   Lara Spencer, the host of the TV show “The Insider”  has been seen wearing a Carmen Marc Valvo on the show and wore a Carmen Marc Valvo dress to the Oscars this past year as well. As Spencer says in a US Magazine Article.

“I wore a great Carmen Marc Valvo gown to the Oscars this year. I felt like a movie star - and two of my fashion idols actually asked me where I got my dress. I mean, how often does a girl share style secrets with J. Lo?”

Now, you might be thinking, “I don’t need a dress that fancy! I don’t have any red carpet events coming up.”  And that may be true my fashion loving friend, but I have two words for you: Holiday Parties!

Fall is officially here and that means that party season is right around the corner. You know you’re going to get an invite to some fou-fou event and the first thing that is going to run through your mind is:

“I have nothing to wear!”

Prevent that fashion panic and plan ahead.  With a Carmen Marc Valvo dress just waiting in your closet, you will be ready, able and perfectly dressed for whatever invitation the mailman might bring.

I mean, we are talking the right dress at the right price. You won’t get another opportunity like this!  With new stock, you can have your pick of styles and sizes.  You won’t spend a million bucks but you can feel like you did.  Plus, what better day to shop than this coming Thursday for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund event? Great designer, great dresses, great prices.. for a great cause!

Remember: Holiday parties plus Carmen Marc Valvo dresses equals fabulous you.

And that’s the Loehdown!

Shopping at Loehmann’s can help Fight Ovarian Cancer.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Loehmann’s is joining the fight. A day of shopping can make a difference.
Loehmann’s has teamed up with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. On Thursday, September 25, all Loehmann’s stores across the country will host a shopping event to benefit the OCRF.

Ovarian Cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer that affects women.

The symptoms are very ambiguous and often missed and then treatment sadly comes too late. Only 19% of cases are caught before the cancer gets a chance to spread. It can be a very aggressive form of cancer and currently, only 45% of women survive longer than 5 years.

Approximately 21,650 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in this country in 2008 and about 15,520 will die from this disease.

While there is no ”good” cancer, watching a previously vital and healthy person get blindsided by this monster is horrific. If you need some shopping inspiration, then please look into the eyes of these women or read their own words at Blog for a Cure. Then dry your tears, and go shopping.

Shoppers can take 15% off their purchases that day when they make a $5 donation at the Loehmann’s register. The entire $5 amount plus 5% of the day’s proceeds from participating shoppers goes to funding research to find a method of early detection and, in time, a cure for ovarian cancer. So the more you shop, the more you give.

This is a National Charity Event so find the closest Loehmann’s to you and plan your day of shopping. Stock up on new fall fashions and support OCRF, please.

Ovarian Cancer is a harsh killer and the 5th leading cause of cancer death in American women, so for our mothers, for our grandmothers, for our aunts, friends, cousins, and daughters… and maybe for yourself, go shopping on Thursday, September 25th.

Alex and Ani Signature Expandable Bangles

As seen on the covers of Elle, InStyle, Lucky and Vogue, and now, most recently on the Marie Claire Big Fall Fashion Issue, Alex and Ani expandable bangle bracelets are making big fashion waves. I am thrilled to let you in on this quiet little secret: I have a limited number of these eco-conscious favorites right now in at Loehmann’s.

I have to say, I really love this line. Yes, they are beautiful. Yes, they are trendy. Yes, the innovated and patented design fits everyone’s wrists making them perfect. But more than all that, they were created and designed as vehicle to enhance human consciousness and promote unity.

Made of 100% reused and recycled materials in the U.S.A, all Alex and Ani products are created to “underscore the idea that what is pure and natural is most beautiful”. And beautiful they are! Each piece is symbolic and reflects, like a talisman, the beauty of the wearer.

An assortment of Alex and Ani signature expandable bangle sets will be priced at Loehmann’s for 19.99.

I can’t guarantee which designs will be in all stores, but I can promise it will be worth a look! Remember, only in small numbers at the following stores, so hurry in!

A Special Opportunity for Guilt Free Shopping

Gilda’s Club NYC

Shopping at Loehmann’s enables a customer to make some serious fashion purchases and save money at the same time.  It’s a great feeling to get your heart’s desire and not feel that regretful shopper’s guilt.  Now Loehmann’s has made it even easier to shop guilt free:

This Thursday evening, only at their Manhattan store in Chelsea, not only will you spend less on designer fashions, but 5% of your purchases will directly be given as a donation by Loehmann’s to Gilda’s Club New York City.

Named in memory for Saturday Night Live original, Gilda Radner, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 1989, Joanna Bull, Gilda Radner’s cancer psychotherapist together with Gilda’s husband Gene Wilder, and  several of Gilda’s other friends founded the first Gilda’s Club in 1991.  Since 1995, the signature red doors have been open and welcoming persons diagnosed with any form of the disease.

Gilda’s Club is distinguished by its unique philosophy and program. Completely free of charge, Gilda’s Club encourages a sense of “expertise” among members, and emphasizes community-building, collective wisdom and shared experience.  Gilda’s Club‘s unique philosophy of helping people learn how to live with cancer, whatever the outcome, not only for those diagnosed but also for their family and friends. The support groups, workshops and social activities all provide much needed life assistance for people living with cancer and their families.

With 5% percent of the evening’s proceeds to benefit this important organization, think with your heart as you shop till you drop. Every $500 donated will sponsor one Gilda Club member affected by cancer for one year allowing him or her to participate in the full range of Gilda’s Club programs. For a location like NY and a store like Loehmann’s, it’s not hard to imagine that it is possible.

Only this Thursday evening, March 27th from 4:30pm - 8:30pm all the goods of the Chelsea store, located at 101 Seventh Avenue, will be waiting for you. Please join Loehmann’s in supporting this very important organization and go at little crazy. It’s for a good cause.
