Loehmann’s Fashion Funds Hope Event Thursday, March 25th

A Day of Shopping to Benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund

There is nothing fashionable about Ovarian Cancer!  Which is why, once again, Loehmann’s is teaming up with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for our bi-annual Fashion Funds Hope Shopping Event.

OCRF-Fashion-funds-hope-2010

Shop for a Cure March 25th

On Thursday, March 25th, fashion-savvy, budget-minded shoppers can support cancer research while receiving special savings on leading designer apparel for one day only, at any Loehmann’s store across the country.

Loehmann’s will offer an additional 15% off a purchase to any customer who donates just five dollars to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) at the register.  In addition to your $5 donation, Loehmann’s will make a contribution to OCRF of 5% of total purchases by donors. So the more you shop, the more you spend, the more you give!

As the most serious gynecological cancer, and the fifth leading cause of cancer death overall, ovarian cancer is a quiet disease for which there is no simple screening test or tool, so patients are usually diagnosed in advanced stages when only 45% survive longer than five years. Early detection raises the five-year survival rate to 92%.

Loehmann’s customers will be able to pick up information about ovarian cancer, from risk factors and symptoms at tables set up inside the stores that day. Not only will your shopping help others fighting this disease, but the knowledge of what to look for and what ovarian cancer symptoms look like can benefit either yourself or someone you care about.

“Give a Little and Get so Much More!”

Remember to shop at Loehmann’s on Thursday, March 25th. When Fashion Funds Hope!

Sneak Peek of the Costa Mesa Loehmann’s

Just in case you can’t get over there for our Loehmann’s Grand Opening, we’ll pass on to you this article from the Orange County Register!

See how lovely the Costa Mesa Loehmann’s shall be:

“Besides being larger, the new store is more airy than other discount stores and boasts boutiquey touches. The dressing rooms – Loehmann’s has long been famous – and dreaded – for its “bullpen” style dressing rooms where women try on clothes communally – are more traditional with private changing cubicles, arty decor, colorful lounges and flattering lighting along with plenty of mirrors.

The sales floor is bright with wide aisles that cross at intersections directing shoppers to each department. The shoe, accessory and purse departments – stocked with high-end designers that rival the neighboring Nordstrom Rack — take up about the same percentage of space as its other stores, but more of that space (especially shoes) is devoted to designer names, Politzer said.”cm-new-loehmanns-grand-opening
