Acid Wash Flashback to Spring

Hey ladies, Ava here,

As our minds and hearts begin to turn towards the hope of warmer weather, I have begun to see sure signs of spring in our upcoming merchandise. One of the trends that I know will be hot this new season is acid wash.

Don’t worry! This is not the return of 1980’s acid wash.

Though last spring we did see acid wash jeans that looked terribly familiar, the soft weathered look of acid wash this year is hot on tops, not bottoms. Think of it as if you stole your older brother’s well worn football t-shirt since that is the look that today’s modern acid wash brings. In fact, some places are even calling it “potassium” wash just so shoppers can make that clear distention. We’re talking brightly colors, that have a unique look of wear and an insane level of comfort. In other words, they not only look good, but they feel great.

Just in time for Spring, Loehmann’s will be receiving a nice quantity of acid wash knit tops!

In a range of colors and style, we shall soon have in all your local Loehmann’s tank tops, crew necks, vnecks and novelty tops. Of course, prices will be much less than department stores ranging from 14.99 to 24.99.

Look for the most current styles and fashion colors from:

While acid wash was started in the mid-’80’s by the Italian company Rifle Jeans, and the look has grown and sunk in popularity over time, it’s very nice to see it come back in a soft and very wearable way.  It’s definitely very nice to be able to think about warmer weather and new spring clothing. And of course, it’s even nicer to save a bunch of money at Loehmann’s while still looking fabulous!

And that’s the Loehdown!

French Fashion on the Loehmann’s Catwalk!

 Bonjour! Ava here!

One of my secret dreams has always been to volunteer during Paris fashion week. Granted, I often get to attend various shows, but since I was a child, the idea of being behind the scenes in Paris, in fashion, in the springtime.  It always seemed like the recipe for a classic Audrey Hepburn kind of story.  While I haven’t had a chance to fulfill that dream yet, I do get to bring French fashion and style to you!

Straight from the streets of Paris, new French Fashion arrivals are coming to Loehmann’s!

From at least six new French designers, these hot looks will be sure to be a great start to your Spring shopping.

Names we can mention include:

  • Sinequanone
  • Astuces
  • Bill Tornade
  • Yumi Diffusion
  • Patrick Mendez
  • Toupy

Be prepared to find ombre tees, tiered skirts, linen military blazers and other new contemporary items at low prices.  The look is smart and romantic and so oohlala!  Incoming fashion palettes will be on the neutral side, sharp black and whites, grays, blues and purples.

Look out for Boho chic pieces in light fabrics that would retail at regular department stores from $75-$250, but take 60% off for Loehmann’s pricing!

My favorite look is an animal print tunic from Sinequanone at $39.99 compared to $100 in department stores.  Also, there is an Astuces printed skirt at $29.99 compared to $75 in department stores that has my name on it!  Also to die for, a linen military inspired jacket from Yumi Diffusion priced at $89.99 that was originally priced at $225.

Of course, styles and selections will vary, but hurry in! This will not last. Be sure to check it out before the goods are gone!

And that’s the Loehdown!

Best Designer Jeans for Petite Bodies

Hi there! Ava here,

It’s accepted that denim jeans are a true fashion staple.

I am sure that pretty much every closet in America has at least one pair of jeans in it and, as with so many things in fashion, it is the fit of the jeans that makes all the difference and can create the biggest challenge.

Jeans tend to create a very loyal fan base often based on that fit and it really does make sense. Jeans guaranteed to fit are jeans guaranteed to sell well and create that fan base. After all, we all know the feeling one gets when something fits well, feels super comfortable and looks great to boot. The worst thing is having that perfect fitting item wear out, get stained and then not being able to find the replacement. Add in a fashion constraint, such as petite sizing, and it could become a fashion emergency.

For our petite shoppers, consider this your public service announcement; Loehmann’s has the best fitting jeans for petites.

Now the term “best fitting jeans for petite bodies” is not made in haste. This information is coming directly from you, our shoppers and jean affectionardos. Take this email excerpt for example:

“…I bought a 2P Salt Works midrise boot cut jean at Loehmann’s in Falls Church, Virginia. Because it was a 2P, there was only one pair. I would love to find a second pair because this is the best fitting jean I’ve put on my body in awhile. I recently lost 50 lbs. (past year). I’m also 4 feet 11 inches tall, so finding a pair of jeans that fits me WITHOUT needing hemming is wonderful. The price at Loehmann’s was also great…”

The Best Designer Jeans for Petite Bodies are…. Salt Works and James Jeans!

Salt Works Jeans are in Loehmann’s stores right now and we have more coming in as well during the next few months. Created by “four self professed denim addicts”, this New York based company takes great pride in the quality of their denim and high stitch count that requires up to 8 hours to create one pair of jeans. While prices directly from them online range from $150 to $195, at Loehmann’s they are 39.99.

James Jeans will be joining the Loehmann’s collections in February. Labeled as a “denim masterpiece” with the most unique and technical “Dry Aged” wash treatments in the industry, these wardrobe staples usually run around $185 out of pocket. The Loehmann’s price for James Jeans will be 99.99.

So, if you are petite and you are looking for those jeans guaranteed to fit, get thee to Loehmann’s!

And that’s the Loehdown!
